Sanmar also known as Sauries are a type of garfish and easily distinguished by two short slender but toothless jaws and 6 to 7 finlets behind both the dorsal and anal fins. Sanmar as bait are a firm fish and can be used ganged up as dead bait it is excellent trolling bait and ideal for catching large pelagic’s such as Spanish Mackerel and Black Marlin.
